Explore the National Elk Refuge, home to thousands of wintering elk, hundreds of bison, bighorn sheep and an array of bird life before venturing into Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Hole’s wintering wildlife is abundant with opportunities to see bison, elk, deer, moose, fox, coyote, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might also choose to stop at the Jackson Hole Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park.

The guides at Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris will make every effort to showcase as many highlights as possible, and will structure the day around making your experience a memorable one. They will take current road conditions, weather, seasonality, and your personal interests into consideration as they move through the park.

  • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The minimum age for wildlife safaris is 8 years old. (Private safaris have no age minimum.)
  • For groups of 14 guests or less: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day safaris and a 14-day cancellation policy for all 2-3 day safaris. For multi-day safaris of 4 days or more, we have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. For groups of 15 or more guests: We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a refund minus a 10% fee. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before your departure to protect you from incurring any costs associated with unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from joining us.

The guide was friendly and knowledgeable so I don't blame her at all. Her educational background and knowledge of the Park and surrounding region were interesting. We had a very comfortable clean van on the evening tour. Unfortunately, other than a distant glance at a bear, we only saw Bison and Pronghorn which we could see daily off the main highway. Best to go on the early morning tour when animals are hungry, and it's cooler. The sun was still bright when evening tour ended. I expect the animals came out after dusk. The company should schedule the evening tour to match the animal feeding pattern as the season progresses, after all the hype is seeing and learning about the animals.

Lee was a fantastic guide, he was so knowledgeable and made the experience fun. He was able to tailor the tour to our requests of which animals we were most interested in seeing and provided excellent results. He was very friendly and kept us entertained the entire tour. I would highly recommend a tour with him.
