Explore the National Elk Refuge, home to thousands of wintering elk, hundreds of bison, bighorn sheep and an array of bird life before venturing into Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Hole’s wintering wildlife is abundant with opportunities to see bison, elk, deer, moose, fox, coyote, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might also choose to stop at the Jackson Hole Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park.

The guides at Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris will make every effort to showcase as many highlights as possible, and will structure the day around making your experience a memorable one. They will take current road conditions, weather, seasonality, and your personal interests into consideration as they move through the park.

  • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The minimum age for wildlife safaris is 8 years old. (Private safaris have no age minimum.)
  • For groups of 14 guests or less: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day safaris and a 14-day cancellation policy for all 2-3 day safaris. For multi-day safaris of 4 days or more, we have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. For groups of 15 or more guests: We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a refund minus a 10% fee. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before your departure to protect you from incurring any costs associated with unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from joining us.

We had a great time on our tour. Our guides name was Pete and my god, that man knew his stuff! He was incredibly knowledgeable with extensive experience. He managed to find seven bears (two of which spent about twenty minutes by our car), moose and elk. He provided snacks and water and even stopped at a gas station so our group could get some coffee after we over served ourselves the night before. This tour was a great way to see the landscape- even in less ideal weather conditions like we had.

This tour was definitely worth the early morning!! Our guide Jeffrey was very friendly, professional, and personal with everyone in the group. His was very knowledgeable about anything you wanted to know about the Tetons, the surrounding areas, the animals, and history of the national parks. His passion for his job is what made the four hour drive a big highlight of my trip. Also, we saw a grizzly, a wolf, lots of elk, several bison, and a variety of birds (which again Jeffrey had an extensive knowledge of all the wildlife). Go book your tour now and ask for Jeffrey!

Jefferey was one of the most knowledgeable tour guides I've ever met and I've been in the industry for about 5 years now. Any question a guest had he had a through and accurate answer for. He's very friendly and accommodating to his guests. The only bad thing I have to say about the tour is that we didn't do a full day private tour with him.
