The waterfall and short hike to get there was the best part of the experience. Our guide, Allen, was great. He clearly explained what would happen on the trip - and shared lots of stories about the river, the wildlife, and the island. We kayaked for about 45 minutes up the river and then walked slightly more than a mile on a trail along the river to get to the falls. We’re glad we had water shoes with good traction - but the hike was very manageable for the entire group. The secret falls are beautiful - and we relaxed, ate lunch, and enjoyed the area - no rushing. Some of the backrests in the kayaks need to be replaced (better backrests makes it easier to paddle) - but that was the only drawback on our trip. By the end of the afternoon we were the last tour group on the river - and it was very quiet and peaceful.
