We were totally blown away with how much we enjoyed and learned on our guided tour. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to really see the Grand Canyon and the beauty of the Canyon. Jon, our guide was excellent and extremely well informed. He was also very prepared with water, Gatorade, snacks, lunch and incredible information about the Canyon. Even though it is advertised as Half -Day, it is really three quarters of a day. I say that because you drive to the Canyon, put on your back pack (provided by them) filled with EVERYTHING you might need plus hiking sticks and then you tour the Canyon at your own pace. We were a bit slow but this gave us plenty of time to really see the Canyon.. Plus we had several opportunities along the way to take amazing pictures. I recommend this to anyone interested in seeing the Canyon and making memories.
Here on some tips:
Listen carefully to your tour guide. Jon had over 25 years of experience and really knew the Canyon.
Wear the right shoes. Parts of the trail may be slippery and hiking shoes are the best.
Wear layers of clothing. Surprisingly, as you go down into the Canyon, the weather gets warmer so you want to start shedding outer layers.
Stay hydrated! Our guide had preloaded our backpacks with water, Gatorade and other fluids we could choose to stay hydrated. There were also several different types of snacks to eat as you are really burning calories.
Wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Parts of the Canyon are very bright and the sun is intense.
I highly recommend this company to anyone of any age. They will create your tour to fit your unique level of experience. We were a group of three, ages ranging from 7 to 65 years. We all enjoyed it and it really made our trip to Arizona special!
