The Colorado River is our favorite family-friendly rafting trip. Beginning as snowmelt high in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Colorado Rockies give birth to the legendary Colorado River. Downstream of the national park, the river character intensifies through the famed and Class 5 “Gore Canyon”, and then below the river gentles. This is where our Colorado River Rafting experiences begin, with an introduction to white water rafting for families, and groups looking to enjoy an iconic Colorado vacation.

Highly recommend this experience when coming to Colorado!! Tanner was a phenomenal guide. He was so informative about the land & river explaining the beauty we were witnessing but also very entertaining. He often would circle our raft around to give us a 360* view so we did not miss a thing. We stopped at a place with a hot spring where we soaked our feet & took more pictures. Never did I feel unsafe or we might capsize. Not to say at times we did get wet in the currents. I would do this again in a heartbeat!! The only thing I would report is to get excellent directions prior to driving there. My directions said to turn on Trough Rd which was not marked as that off the road we were on. I believe it was marked as State Bridge Rd. With no cellular access on the mountain we never would have found it if we had not seen a local on the porch of their trailer. We were thankful for their help!!!

Excellent advice: turning off highway 9 you may see a sign that says "Pumphouse" or Colorado Road #1. Try taking a screen shot of the map which is retained even when there's no cell. Because, as you mention, it's off the beaten path and remoteness is much of what makes it so beautiful. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing the review!

Could not have had a better tour than we had with Tanner as our guide. He not only was a plethora of information about the river, wildlife, & nature, but was so entertaining & funny to be with!! The adventure was better than I anticipated which was hard to beat. Tanner was an amazing guide!! Just make sure you are aware about your directions to the destination because there is no cellular service out there.
