We booked our tour for a Saturday evening in early February. We figured it would be crowded in the French Quarter on a weekend, but we did not count on a Mardi Gras parade. It turns out that Mardi Gras is a month-long celebration, with a parade every night. We ran into immense crowds of revelers and raucous parade bands at almost every turn. After we finally connected with our guide, we hoofed it all over the Quarter trying to get to the haunted places and trying to find quiet corners where he could explain the history and try to infuse a little spookiness into the tale. It wasn't easy, believe me. I swear I logged 50,000 steps, about 30,000 of which were backtracking or retracing our steps. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE WITH DIFFICULTY WALKING.
It was still fun, and it's given us a story, but it was not at all what we expected. Plus, everyone should know that you don't go inside any of the haunted buildings, and you might want to brush up on your Nicolas Cage lore.

Thank you for your feedback. You make a very good point - it is very difficult to conduct tours while there are Mardi Gras parades. In fact, we are thinking of canceling some tours next week to avoid the parades. Thanks again!
