Our favorite part of the tour was the pairing of wine and food. When it is done right, it's like magic! We lucked out - it was just my wife and I, along with our wonderful guide, Tammy. She showed us around the downtown area, explaining the history of the town and the early families that settled in Healdsburg, especially the ones making wine. She brought us to a salumeria where we sampled several different meats with Rose, then to a wine tasting room where we sampled five wines, each paired with a specially created tapa that demonstrated how pairing should be done. My only regret was that we didn't get a listing of those tapas, as we'd certainly like to try to replicate some of them. We next went to a Spanish Tapas bar where we had Sangria and sparkling Cava, along with an assortment of wonderful food accompaniments. It was a lot of fun, and never rushed. Tammy let us take our time and we had a lot of fun conversations about the wines, foods and places to go and see in the area. We ended up at a very popular ice cream shop, where we got our "dessert" for the tour, a very enjoyable 4+ hours. I highly recommend this tour!
