The ultimate multi activity package: a helicopter tour, a dogsled tour and a landing on the lower glacier to explore the melt pools and crevasses.

Start this adventure with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats. Land on a huge snow field high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer long. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team if you want, or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team.

After the tour the helicopter takes you to the lower glaciers where you will land on the hard ice between the crevasses to see the majestic blue melt pools.

Total Tour time 2 hours - 1 hour on the glacier with dogsledding (aprox 30 min sled ride) and 30 min at the lower glacier near the crevasses and blue melt pools. Aprox 30 min of flight seeing total round trip

Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.

Wow! This experience was a truely 1st class. Our pilot Michael Brookes was fantastic. To land on the glacier and meet the dogs was just the best!!!! We were buzzing after we landed. Did not want for it to be over. Was worth every cent. So glad we did it

This was definitely an experience of a lifetime for me and my three friends! Everything went great from the start with our hotel transfer to Alaska Glacier Lodge. We were checked in and on our helicopter with beautiful, clear weather for our journey. First stop was Dog Camp where we met our musher (who happened to be from my hometown - what are the odds?) and interacted with the dogs. We all took turns standing on the back and sitting in the sled while getting pulled by these magnificent animals. We even got to hold one of the puppies. Then it was off to the Knik Glacier where we explored the glacier and even drank the delicious glacier water before our time was done. Our pilot made sure to fly us over a couple moose and a bear out enjoying the day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone!!

What a way to start our two week long land and sea vacation for our 25th wedding anniversary!! We left this experience thinking how could we possibly top it!! And for those of you who are concerned about flying in a helicopter, (I was petrified!) Fight your fear… I promise it’s worth it!
