The hike itself was great. Our guide was friendly but needs to hone his skills as a guide. He drove us up the wrong path to our site— a gravelly, very bumpy ride that wasted 45 minutes. He did not know the path to turn on to get to the waterfalls. He directed 2 of us up a path and told us we would meet them but there was no connecting area so we had to call them and find them. I’ve done many guided tours and the guides have always been able to give a history of the area and relevant info on the geography. Our guide should have told us when was Seattle first settled, what is the geological formation of the area, what are the plants , trees, in the area, what does the name of the waterfall we hiked to mean, etc. When we first left the parking lot, he gave us a history of the African American culture and it’s history in that area. We were not there for a political or historical lesson on that topic. We just wanted a guided hiking tour.

Hi Johnny, thanks for the review of your experience. After carefully investigating what occurred, we’d like to provide some context we believe is important. Our guides are trained through a rigorous process which has been honed over the last 3.5 years. Although rare, mistakes do happen but we feel it does not reflect the brand nor the guide (see previous reviews). The outdoors can be a treacherous and unforgiving space and we want to ensure the highest quality experience there is for all our hikers. We apologize for the directional mishaps due to the GPS and can assure you that it has been rectified.
Regarding your comment about “relevant info” during the tour, we feel the information your guide provided was relevant to the history of Seattle as well as the outdoors. At Miles Hike Club, we take pride in the fact that as a small Black owned business, we are constantly iterating and improving our experience for every hiker. We appreciate your feedback, wish you all the best and hope you’ll join us again soon.
Warmly,
Miles Hike Club
