We used Vagabond for their Savannah Historic Tour from Sea Pines in Hilton Head. First mistake was not looking at the website, simply called for reservations and were wrongly informed it would be 1 hour and 15 minute boat ride. Seeing as it's 1 hour to drive to Savannah we thought this would be a nice trip without having to drive. We weren't the only family having been given this incorrect information, 2 other couples that sat next to us said the same thing. Once on board we flipped through the Vagabond brochure and read that it would actually be a 1 hour and 45 minute trip so I don't know why the staff member on the phone misinformed us. In reality, it took every single bit of 2 hours each way, DOUBLE the time it would have taken to drive, parking in Savannah is only $20 and we could have stayed a whole day instead of only 4 hrs. We spent just as long on the boat as we did in Savannah! While we did see a few dolphins...it's hard to go anywhere on Hilton Head and NOT see dolphins so this was no consolation. There is minimal indoor seating, first come first serve. If they wasted less space with so many tables more people would have been able to sit inside. While they do offer food/drinks for purchase it's not the type of food that requires a table...or at least I didn't see anyone eating such things (chips and muffins). The weather was chilly (mid April) and while we were dressed in long pants and long sleeves it still gets cold after so long, they had about a dozen blankets you could use, but of course that was no where near the number of blankets needed for the people on the boat. They offer no entertainment, no music, no coloring for the kids, not a deck of cards. Vagabond offers transportation to Daufuskie which is someplace we intend to visit during our stay, but I would rather drive off Sea Pines property and use anyone else or not go at all rather than use Vagabond again.
