This walking tour was so much fun! Of course you can't go wrong walking through a City as gorgeous as Santa Barbara. On this tour we got a little history, viewed some jaw-dropping architecture, and tasted some great food. My favorite place was Ca' Dario Ristorante where we tasted their Ravioli Al Burro E Salvia ("Pasta pillows filled with spinach and ricotta, brown butter and sage sauce). The crispy sage was really delicious. We also tasted their Pappardelle Alla Bolognese only with spinach noodles. It was also fantastic. I'm hoping we will go back for a full dinner.
We also tasted a taco and ice cream at the public market, and wine at Grassini. We skipped the beer tasting because we were simply too full.
Our tour guide, Sandy, did a great job. She shared a ton of knowledge on the history of Santa Barbara, the 1925 earthquake, and how SB adopted their classic white stucco / clay tile roofing aesthetic. She showed us the sunken gardens behind the court house, and a host of other lovely buildings as we made our way around town.
This event was well worth the price of admission! We now have some favorite eateries to visit while we are in town.
