We have been coming annually to Pensacola for over twenty-five years to visit my wife's parents who retired here. We always wondered about the city and were ignorant about most of the history and landmarks. With our daughters now teenagers and one going off to college, we felt it about time to learn more. Thus the catalyst to look for a good guided tour. Well the Pensacola Hop-on Hop-off tour did not disappoint. We loved the interactive video they play as you drive by various historic landmarks and points of interest. There is so much in Pensacola that we never knew about including the amazing historical housing district and Veterans Memorial Park. Also the visitor information center you will stop at provides an abundance of pamphlets and information about both recreational activities to do in the area and local community events such as Gallery night in Downtown Pensacola that takes place the third Friday of every month. What made this tour undeniably memorable, however was our tour guide, retired veteran, LeeRoy! He was one of the most humorous, knowledgeable and down to earth tour guides we have ever experienced. Within seconds of him introducing himself you could feel his enthusiasm and charisma. It was also evidently clear that he loves what he does. He made the tour worth every penny. If you don't get LeeRoy, it is still worth going, but seriously this guy should train every new hire for every tour group in North America. If only he could clone himself! We loved the free gelato at Joe Patti's Seafood market and all the stops were interesting because of the video and LeeRoy adding fun facts along the way. The tour is quick, about an hour, so it gives you plenty of time to enjoy other parts of Pensacola. As an added bonus the wrist band they provide gives you plenty of discounts at local merchants and even grants you free admission to the Pensacola Lighthouse. Overall the Pensacola Hop-on Hop-off tour is a wonderful way to learn more about Pensacola. Thank you to LeeRoy for being the BEST and Go Retro we give you an A+ for the experience. Thank you!
