Vijay is an absolute treasure. Possessing an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the house, he toured us through each of the available rooms, pointing to preserved features with both a cutting professionalism and a sense of fun. You have to experience his tour to know what it's like.
You'll get to use 100+ year old furniture and they'll also give you historic styles of tea to try, complimentary. There's a gift shop at the end with house-made soaps and tea. Note not all rooms will be available to tour because it's also a bed and breakfast, but at least for our tour it seemed to hardly matter (1/2 bedrooms weren't available). The house should continue to be preserved by the owners so other people can get a glimpse into daily life back then, especially through Vijay's tour.
