You MUST be able to swim unassisted in the ocean to book this Beginner Scuba Dive.

Private Scuba Diving is REQUIRED when your group has a novice swimmer. Look for our private tour in a separate listing.

If your swimming ability is misrepresented, it will lead to removal from this beginner scuba dive and NO REFUND.

Public transportation options are available nearby
Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age to participate is 10.
Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30 pounds for a short distance.
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more.
Guests MUST be comfortable swimming in the ocean to complete this scuba diving tour. If you book this tour but cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
Not recommended for travelers with asthma or sinus medical conditions
Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IN THE OCEAN IS REQUIRED. This means that you must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.

We had an amazing time! Jen was so patient while teaching us the skills. We did 2 dives and would highly recommend it! There's so much to see! So many turtles, fish, coral, and even a shark. We'll be treasuring the photos/videos from our dive.

Thanks to Caitlin and Jenn for a very enjoyable dive experience. They were very patient and thorough in teaching our family of 5 adults to dive. I was worried about being cold in the water since we were diving in December, but they provided wet suits and I was never chilly. I would highly recommend adding the second dive. The first dive was really more about learning the skills and practicing. Once we became comfortable with the equipment, we were able to move on to a site that offered much more to see. I would also highly recommend adding the option for them to take pictures . . . we got some great ones to remember the day by. Thank you so much Caitlin and Jenn for a wonderful day!

The water during the winter can get a little chilly so it's good to know that you were nice and warm. If you want to try scuba diving in Maui, Banyan Tree Divers is the company to do it with. The class before the dive helps you feel at ease, and Chris and Annika made sure each diver in the group went at their own pace until they felt comfortable underwater. As a first time diver, they answered every question I had before we started and checked in on me throughout the dive to make sure I was doing ok. They help you get in and out of the ocean safely as well. This is also a great experience for solo travelers looking to have a new adventure. Highly recommend if you are at all curious about scuba diving!
