5 of us had 12 hours to kill after disembarking Pride off Am. before our Sat. night plane home and found this to be a great way to use the time. They offered to pick us up near the ship, but we opted to walk to Enterprise and rent a car for a more flexibility. Our guide, Tommy, was excellent - instructive & helpful. The equipment was solid and if you forgot a rash guard or reef shoes there was a discount in their store. There are 4 outside showers, a briefing room with lockers and 1 changing stall. You NEED foot protection for the walk around Flat Island! We brought our reef shoes, and are so glad we did. The walk around this island is not for tender feet! We ranged in age from 10-77, had paddled before, and used a 3 person and a 2 person kayaks. Tommy led the way out/back to the island, gave us snacks when we got there and provided a good amount of info regarding flora/fauna on and around this little isle and those we could see nearby. As one of the elder ones I found the terrain rough and kept my head down much of the time to see where my next step might safely be landed. Other things we liked: wheeled kayak trolley to get it to the beach (3 blocks away), easy entry of kayak to water, safe parking lot for our vehicle, pizza lunch coupon, beautiful beach, use of their toys after the guided trip and helpful /kind staff throughout the system.
