Take a leisurely cruise down the Wailua River to the botanical beauty of the Fern Grotto. Wailua River is known as "the only navigable river" in all Hawaii. The rivers fresh water pours from the Mt. Wai'ale'ale, one of the wettest spots on the plant.Lands along the river were the sacred capital of ancient Kauai and the birth place of the island's ali'i, or royalty. During the two mile river journey, you'll hear songs and stories of ancient Hawaii and enjoy learning the hula during a lesson provided by a young hula dancer. The Fern Grotto is a geological wonder of Kauai. Ferns grow upside down from the roof of the grotto, which was formed millions of years ago. Native Hawaiian plants and colorful exotic tropical plants provide a rain-forest atmosphere. A visit to the overlook at Opaekaa Falls , the most accessible waterfall on the island, will secure your love of Kauai, our garden island.

The tour was cancelled due to weather. No issues with a full refund. So glad the refund occurred quickly. We hope to go in the future.

I did not have a great experience because I wasn't allowed to take a trip that I booked back in August. At the time of my reservation I did not see that it was affiliated with a cruise ship. I wasn't on the cruise which eliminated me from going on the tour even though I paid for it back in August. We were willing to take the tour, but tour company would not lets us take the tour. Viator and Roberts Hawaii kept telling me to contact the other vendor. Neither Viator or Roberts Hawaii had any interest in refunding $154.00. They cancelled on us. We didn't cancel, we just wanted to get on the tour. I lost my husband in May 2022. My friend took me to Kauai in November for relaxation as I'm learning to live without my husband, and simply a nice getaway as winter sets in Washington.

The view of the Wailua River was spectacular. Our tour driver Leon was informative & friendly. Beautiful flowers & trees on the way to the Fern Grotto.
