We arrived to the place 10 mins before our time. It was very easy to find. We were greeted promptly and introduced to Kristen. She had a great vibe immediately
Kristen helped us pick out our life jackets.
She explained we could lock our phones in the box. At first I wanted to take my phone but she assured us, she would take pictures. She got some great shots. Honestly, just leave your phone behind. It allowed me to focus on the here and now.
We dragged our kayaks down to the water. Took off our flip flops (we wore flops, swim trunks, and tee shirts). Not tough but if you need help, I’m sure someone could do that part for you.
We kayaked through the harbor (very calm water), by some house boats, by the yacht club, by the rock wall, and out into the ocean. When she first said out into the ocean, I was like “ummm what?!” But, it wasn’t bad at all, and very safe. Wildlife that was so close to our kayaks (harbor seals, starfish, fish, a ton of pelicans, and the highlight for me was a bunch of sea lions on a buoy).
I honestly didn’t think about life or work once while I was out on the water. Kristen was a big part of that because she truly made it a ‘meditative experience’. That was a word she used to describe being on the water.
Once we got back, she sent us our pictures (airdrop or text). She gave us recommendations on where to eat and things to see. She a true local, born and raised, so she knows a bunch about the area. We tipped her (cash and Venmo) and grabbed our belongings from the lock box.
I’d totally go again but I honestly would request Kristen because she was so chill and fun to spend our afternoon with.
Definitely would do again. Definitely suggest you try this. Wear sunscreen!
