Just a few minutes away from all the hustle and bustle of Sarasota is our favorite local beach, Turtle Beach. It is only a few short miles from the main Siesta Key beach to Turtle Beach and the Sarasota County trolley will drop you right there. Not only is this area such a beautiful and quiet place, it is also a great place to paddle!

We start on the intercostal and paddle down a short canal to the Bay. We paddle around the mangrove islands through a mangrove tunnel or two and alongside a bird rookery.

We paddle around the mangrove islands of Jim Neville Marine Preserve and then to a "secret" beach. This beach is only accessible by boat so we may have it to ourselves. Such a beautiful place for a quick swim or just stopping for a few moments to relax. You may want to stay here all day.

This location is home to all kinds of wildlife including manatees (when water temps are warm enough), dolphins, beautiful sea and shorebirds and lots of fish.

Easy to book and friendly staff. We had a good time on the water. They provide a map and a dry bag to keep your items dry. We were able to find a family of manatees out in the water. It was pretty cool!

When our friends from Spain planned a trip to visit us, they wanted to go kayaking. Since they had a young son, we could not use the Mote kayaking option. So we shopped around and found you! Ryan was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. He was very encouraging that we had plenty of time to slowly and sometimes clumsily go through the Mangrove Tunnels. We will be back to experience this kayaking tour again!

It was great! Our guide, Martha, was knowledgeable and patient. The Kayaks were comfortable and in good shape. The weather and nature also helped make the trip a success. We did see one manatee in open water about 40 yards away.
