Was a gorgeous trip, fun, guide was excellent, knowledgeable she was great explaining all the sites and while we went through the mangroves. Although we had no manatee or dolphin sightings we saw so many different birds and fish...was a great tour will definetly do again when i am back and will recommend to anyone I know is going down this way! Thanks for a perfect day Surfit!

We had a great time on this tour. Our visitor from California found this tour first and talked us into going. I'm not the adventurous sort but I booked it. My husband (who is more outdoorsy than I) ,and I shared a 2 person kayak and he did most of the heavy lifting (paddling). It was a bit windy which made me nervous until we got to the protected cove area and started into the tunnels. One tunnel particularly was very narrow and somewhat hard to fit through. Our guide, Phil, was tethered to another kayak (that needed a lot of help) and he lead the way. For beginners, I don't think that tunnel was the best choice actually. I enjoyed and felt more comfortable in the wider ones. Our experienced visitor loved it all though!

We typically stick to the wider tunnels but because of the wind, Phil may have chosen to get you all into the closest one. The guides are always trying to weigh safety considerations and comfort levels. It gets a little trickier to do when the weather doesn't cooperate. I am sorry that you felt uncomfortable in that tunnel but glad you enjoyed the wider ones. We would be happy to take you out again (on us!) on a less windy day. Quality company with skilled and friendly staff. Safety a top priority and the kayaks are comfortable and kept in great shape. Loved the experience of kayaking through the mangroves. Beyond the beauty of the mangroves, we experienced much wildlife with birds, fish and fun sea creatures! A must for anyone who is looking for a different kayak experience!
