This was an excellent tour and an awesome experience. I had done the boat glass tour years ago and I didn't feel it was such a great tour, so I wanted to try this dolphin tour since it included dolphin watch plus snorkel. This was such a great tour! We were able to see several dolphin right in the beginning of our trip and saw them along the way several times. The dolphins only jumped once and mostly swam in the water, but we were definitely pleased with what we saw. The female captain said that the other boat next to us had been looking for dolphins for 45 minutes and we saw them right away. This was great because we were able to go to the snorkel destination after that and we were there for a long time and it was not rushed at all. I would say that we were able to snorkel for at least 1hour and 15 minutes if not a little longer. The captain said that we were able to stay longer because we saw the dolphins pretty early in the trip.
Regarding the snorkel destination...it's a shallow spot with sponges, so don't expect to see colorful corals, etc. I had been to another tour years ago in Key West in an open water snorkeling tour and was able to see colorful corals, fish, etc...this is not that type of snorkeling trip. In a way, it's better this trip especially if you have children or if you have somebody in your party that is afraid of the ocean. This spot is pretty shallow (not more than 6 "deep, even though you can't touch the bottom otherwise you will kill the sponges, corals, etc). There are no waves and you can see different kind of small fish...I even saw a crab hiding under the sand. It was a very nice experience that was well worth the price, basically two experiences for one price.
I went with my two children ages 13 yo and 8 yo and both of them were able to snorkel on their own for the entire time. They give you a lifejacket plus pool floaties that you float and make the experience so much more pleasurable. There were other boats next to us, both private and another tour boat, but the space is big enough lol. After the snorkeling trip they serve people with some alcoholic beverages, soda, orange juice, etc.
Overall, this was an excellent choice and an excellent trip! Thank you Fury members for making this trip wonderful. My children both enjoyed the trip as well and I think this is a great choice for families, especially children because there are no waves and the children don't get scared and don't swallow any water (this is true for those who are also a little scared of going into open water).
My only suggestion is to arrive at the check in kiosk a little early especially with COVID 19...they check everybody's temperature and nobody can get in if they are over 100 C. We walked about 15 minutes to get there and it was very hot, so when they put the thermometer on me it indicated 102C...I rested a little, drank some water and after 10 minutes it was still 100.5C. I think I might have had to wait for about 15-20 minutes for my body temperature to cool off enough. I'm just saying this because with the hot sun in Key west I'm sure others may test over 100C, so give yourself some time prior to your scheduled tour to get there. BTW, the captain did say that Fury is offering a refund or rebooking option if people don't feel comfortable going on the boat with that many people. Our boat wasn't crowded and everybody had to wear a mask, so it wasn't an issue.
If you are thinking about booking this trip, go ahead and book it. You won't regret it!
