Matthew the Captain and Brooks were really great. Nice and knowledgeable and took great care of us on deck.
However, the company, Fury, should set the expectations better: First, the Q&A refer to a Catamaran and this is definitely not a Catamaran. The sunny part is not big and does not allow for laying down or anything you'd expect from a Catamaran. Second, the snorkeling portion is not done in the reef like Q&A state. It's in a soft shell area that has no hard corrals, is monochromatic and does. not even have many fish. Snorkeling for 30 minutes I saw maybe a few grey fish and that's it.
So to summarize, the experience overall is nice, the staff is nice and the drinks flow, but it is a very underwhelming snorkeling trip.

We regret that you were disappointed with your experience with us. Our Dolphin Watch & Snorkel Trip departs on a Corinthian catamaran as pictured in our listing. Catamarans have two hulls which makes them more stable on the water. Our fleet includes sailing catamarans that go to the Florida Reef in the Atlantic and motorized catamarans to go into the Gulf of Mexico for backcountry snorkeling. We use these vessels in the Gulf simply because the water is shallower, and find they provide a very comfortable experience for our guests. The Gulf of Mexico has patch corals that act as a nursery for the larger reef. Our Q&A for this trip states “You will snorkel patch coral and sponge gardens with the possibility of Spotting Stingrays, Juvenile Fish, Sea Fans, Sea Rods, Sponges, and Isolated Coral Formations”. It is very rare that guests say they did not see amazing marine life and coral heads!
We are very lucky that so many days here in Key West look exactly like the beautiful photos and videos you see on our website & other channels. However, you should be aware that all of our water adventures are outdoors and influenced by Mother Nature. Many days underwater visibility is 80+ feet and teeming with sea life; others are not. Though we hope that every day is perfect, we are not in control of the wind, waves, clouds, rain or underwater sea life.
We do hope to have the opportunity to have you back out with us again!
