We had an amazing time on this tour. It's not NEARLY enough walking to work off all the food we ate, but... the tour guides are VERY knowledgeable about food AND San Francisco and have LOTS to say about the area and the specialties. I would recommend this to anyone who likes food and wants to learn more about San Francisco. We took the 10 AM tour of Little Italy/N Beach and were lucky enough to try the focaccia bread at one of the local bakeries -- they only stay open until they run out of bread, so you might not get any if you take the 2 PM tour. My husband informed the tour guide ahead of time that it was my birthday, and the tour guide made arrangements for the group to have an AMAZING birthday cake (at no additional expense to us!) at one of the bakeries. It was a fantastic cake and a wonderful surprise. My last note: Save room for the AMAZING Roman Pizza at the last stop of the tour. We were so full we could only enjoy a couple of pieces before we had to stop eating. ;o) The next time I'm in San Francisco, I just might have to go on the Tastes of the City Chinatown tour. Why not? These guys are GREAT.

We just took the North Beach\Little Italy tour on Monday. Not only was it lots of fun and great food, but the attantion to quality was very impressive. The chocolatier was ill and had to close his shop for the day (this is the first time this has ever happened) and they quickly arranged for a local fudge maker to show us how he made the fudge and gave each of us a large box of great fudge. The rest of the food was excellent also, from the coffee, foccicia, bread, pizza, and more, and it was lots of fun, however it was refeshing to see how they were determined to have a high quality tour, even when the unexpected happened.
