We'll enter a community that fosters stunning street art, both on the main roads and weaving through the city neighborhoods. Venice Beach is a community that embraces diversity through art, culture, cuisine, and hospitality.

Over the years, I have looked for food tours (in Europe, South America, other US cities) as way to experience the history and flavor of an area (pun sort of intended) because the best guides are those that can share the lore, the history and some interesting facts about an area. Anich did just that and she is a wonderful tour guide! Admittedly, I parked in an area a few blocks from the meeting point, and as I looked around the area, I wondered how I got there and what interesting thing I might see (other than the drunk guy pulling his face out of the sand walking off the beach – I really saw him!). And then I met Anich. She has a great personality and is an engaging young woman. The first thing she did was to point out a mural and she briefly told of the artist, described the work he did; and as the tour progressed, she noted a few more of his murals (yes, all were murals that you might give a glance to but not really give thought to, and Anich provided some points of interest and some context). The next thing to note is that Anich was able to tell a bit about the personal journey of the restaurant owners whose samples were featured on the tour, but in a personal way (not just: the tour company has a stop here). The tastings were ample and tasty. So, remember a few lines ago that I wondered what I would see? The tour took us through a wonderfully enchanting portion of Venice Beach that I would not have seen (or would have been interested in finding based on my impressions of where I parked) if I had not taken this tour. I recommend this tour with Anich. She is personable and likeable, knowledgeable about the history, sprinkles the tour with some pertinent information and lore, and the food is well selected! She is responsive to the needs of her small group and is interactive in a way that you would hope for.

Brandon was a great guide. Knowledgeable and friendly. And the food selections were incredible. A wide variety from refreshing açai bowls to incredible empanadas and tacos. The dessert at the end was fantastic too! A great way to get to know the Venice Beach area if you’re visiting while getting your steps in
