This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

I really enjoyed my time in the estuaries of Lovers Key state park. Our guide Stephen was very informative in regard to the plant and animal life living there. I would recommend to anyone who loves nature and is looking for a light upper body workout. The equipment was easy to use and navigate in the water.

WOW! What a great time my husband, daughter, son in law and 2 grandkids(teens) had on the guided Kayak tour-mangrove estuary. I was hoping to see manatees and we were not disappointed! We saw them before we got into our kayaks and then many times after. I was thrilled! They were near us, under us and beside us! Our guide was Stephen Denmark and his dog on a paddle board. He was a wealth of information about the mangroves, fish, birds and manatees. This was only the second time I had been kayaking and Steve gave us a lot of info on kayaking and how not to tip over on the double kayak that I shared with my husband. I would definitely recommend this tour. Plus, Steve took pictures of our group and sent them to me that day. I had my camera in a waterproof bag but I must have gotten sunscreen on it because all of the pictures were cloudy. So getting the pictures from Steve were so appreciated! The only downside of the tour was that we got to the location on time and then had to wait over 30 minutes or so until the other people who had signed up arrived. Always be on time!!

Stephen did a great job as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and got us up close and personal with the manatees.
