I had never taken a guided kayak tour before, but because I was alone, I thought it was a safer choice. And I'm so glad I did it, the guide Stephen made it an amazing experience, he had a lot of knowledge to share on the history of the area, the types of animals we saw (even ones we didn't get to see that trip), the plants and related each story in a great way. His passion for what he does made the tour a lot of fun for our entire group. We saw a dolphin multiple times, and although we didn't spot any manatees, it was still a wonderful trip. It was a bright sunny day, so they were probably all off somewhere hiding. I would highly recommend this spot for kayaking, and this tour in particular.
They have both single and tandem kayaks, Stephen did all the setup and helped each person launch. He had a lot of great advice for anyone who'd want to return to fish another time, so if you're into fishing he's definitely a good resource. The park is beautiful too, and although this trip I didn't have time to hike around after the kayak trip, next time I go I would definitely do both!
