If you are planning a trip to NYC and trying to decide whether to include Brooklyn there are two questions you need to answer. Firstly, is it worth the effort and secondly how to go about it?
We have made numerous visits to New York and only ever stayed in Manhattan. This was therefore our first visit to Brooklyn and, having spent a great day there, really regretted not having made an earlier visit. Our visit started with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, followed by Dom's walking tour of DUMBO, a ferry journey to Williamsburg and back to Manhattan. It was a great combination.
Answering the second question, a walking tour (and Dom's in particular) is a perfect way to get to understand Brooklyn, its history, geography and people. Dom is an excellent tour guide: informative, funny and very engaged. He takes you to some unique places where you will meet some fascinating people. You do all of this with the backdrop of Manhattan. Highly recommended and the highlight of a long weekend in NYC.
Book it you will not be disappointed.
