We had Sonja on our tour. She took our very tired family (our flight had been delayed and we only got in at 4am), including two fairly stroppy teenagers out on a long walking tour around New York. I thought the children would be moaning after half an hour but in the end we had more than our allotted time. She found out about us and took us places she thought we might find interesting. Sometimes tour guides can be a bit "this is how much I know about my subject so just shut up, listen and be amazed." This wasn't that kind of tour - it felt like we were wandering round with an old friend who happened to know alot. Highly recommended.

Our girls trip with mother/daughter/grandmother thoroughly enjoyed our streetwise new york tour. Dan was our tour guide and he helped us maneuver the NY subway, enjoy cannolis in Little Italy, dumplings in Chinatown, sandwiches at the Chelsea Market. This was not a food tour but we wanted to try something from each neighborhood and we were not disappointed. Dan let us stop whenever we wanted to take a break or get a snack. We also went to Central Park. We had a wonderful 6 hour tour and he customizes it to what areas you would like to see. I highly recommend Streetwise New York Tours. You will not be disappointed!!

We booked this bespoke tour for the three of us and it was brilliant. Andy our guide took us through Greenwich village, Little Italy and Chinatown and to little gems of places we would never have known about or had time to discover if we we wandering about on our own. Like Andy said you can find your way around the most obvious sights on your own. He also gave us lots of useful tips on times to avoid the big attractions such as the Empire State building and recommended good places to eat. Our 3 hour tour ran way over time but at no extra cost. Andy also told us to e mail him if we needed anyone tips and advice during the rest of our stay. If you love walking and want to be guided by a genuine local then book this tour!
