We joined the tour at Pod 51 and felt immediately welcomed by Andrew! More than a "guide"- he seemed like a gracious host, welcoming us to his home. The places and experiences he shared with us- a subway ride, shopping in Chelsea Market, strolling through Greenwich Village- felt so personal because of the care he took to share the stories and lore of these things (both personal and public). The walk/ pace was NOT physically demanding, so for anyone who wants to see the city by foot but has concerns about endurance…go ahead and book it! We used Andrew's suggestions, advice, and "confidence-buiding" as a starting point and spent 6 more hours exploring by foot at the conclusion of the tour. Thanks so much, Andrew, for a wonderful day in the City!

Andrew was awesome. We couldn't asked for a better guide. The tour was just our family and it was customized just for us. We walked for 3++ hours and saw so many interesting sights, we had to go back the next day and revisited the areas. It was so nice not to have to worry about getting lost and what train to take, Andrew did it all. A big plus for me was he knew where all the coveted bathrooms were. Andrew was awesome with our son who asked a million questions, he listened to him and answered him. He went out of his way to show us everything we wanted to see and took us to places we never knew existed! I can not say enough about this tour. It was just our family and that is the way to go!! We saw lots of other tour groups with 12-20 people in the group and they were doing a lot of standing around. No standing around on this tour! You can customize it to fit your groups need. We will be back and we will hire Andrew again to take us to see the boroughs. If you want your own New Yorker to show you around, Andrew is your guy!!!

As organised from Australia in just a few emails, Patrick Waldo met us at our hotel for a 6 hour private walking tour and introduced us to a NYC that most tourists don't get to see or hear about. Self confessed Seinfeld fans, Patrick walked us past the Soup Nazi's kitchen and the "Restaurant", then to the wonderful Cathedral on 110th Street, downtown then on the subway to Chelsea Markets, the Meatpackers district, past Carrie's flat in the Village, Magnolia Bakery, the High Line etc. All of this was explained in interesting detail as well as tit bits on who lives where etc. Highly recommended early in your NYC stay.
