I took the Thursday Greenwich Village & Meatpacking district tour through the Pod 51 hotel. Andrew was our tour guide. It was a great tour. Andrew was super friendly and helpful.
He started by giving us pointers on how to navigate the subway, and then showing us art installations inside the subway station, along with history. Then we started the tour at the Chelsea Market, which included time for us to explore on our own. After that, we walked along the High Line. Again, Andrew had tons of information about the history and politics of the park.
From there, we moved down onto the street and saw some local parks and navigated streets that were designed prior to the grid system. We moved into Greenwich Village and got to saw several renovations that were in taking place. Through all of this, Andrew was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
We saw the brownstone used in Sex in the City, and then walked to the Stonewall memorial. We finally ended up in Washington Square Park. Overall, it was a fantastic tour. We learned so much. Andrew was so helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about New York.
