Dan was a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He took us walking through Manhattan. We learned a lot in a very short time. We did the tour on our first day which was great because we could go back and explore those places later. It was a hot summer day but kids (13,15) and adults did well. We were able to stop as needed.

We started our trip to New York with a Streetwise walking tour with Dan. This was a great way to start the trip as it gave us a good orientation around the city. Dan is a friendly knowledgeable guy and we walked through the Meatpacking district, to Greenwich village and Soho. We stopped by a really interesting music shop in the village and saw the famous Chelsea hotel. The only bit of the tour I would possibly skip is the walk through Little Italy which was fairly tacky. The added upside of the trip was that Dan gave us quite a few tips on what to do in the rest of our stay and what to avoid. Possibly his best tip being to use the Citi Bikes to get around which we then did a lot.

After reading the reviews here, I contacted Streetwise with my wish list of places to visit. Dan's response prompt and professional. Sonya was our guide for a 4.5 hour tour of Manhattan. She is a delight! Her knowledge and obvious love of the city make her an excellent guide. It honestly felt more like a friend was showing us around town. If we were staying longer I would have her "show us around" a lot more!
