Street food in Tijuana means, fat, salsa a quick service but mainly a bunch of flavor. At the end we should look for a good tap room to try craft beer. If you are more like to taste something sweet maybe a margarita in a authentic mexican cantina will be the option. We met Leia just over the Mexican side of the border for an expansive food tour of Tijuana. Not only did she expose us to all types of tasty food (I won't reveal her secret spots here!), she took the time to show us a bit of Tijuana itself. It was a perfect blend of culture, history, and food. She also had a very kind way about her and accommodated several different kinds of travelers, from the more adventurous to the more timid. What's more, the communication was great from sign-up to drop-off right at the border at the end. Thank you, Leia! Hope to see you again!

Where to start? Apparently TripAdvisor didn't give our contact info to Border Tours, so they had no way to get in touch with us to let us know the correct meeting place. ( Which is on the Mexican side of the border) We asked around and were told by some locals to go into Mexico and look for the tour guide- which we did. With the help of another local our tour guide was identified. BTW....we were given a number for Border Tours, no answer and no voicemail So we got a late start. Our guide was friendly and very much a Tijuana native, he loves his hometown. As far as history...very little. As far as describing food facts such as where our tastings were sourced, preparation, relationship to culture....nothing. We basically walked around Tijuana and he answered any questions we had. We were dropped off at a "touristy shopping area" where the shopkeepers were obviously accustomed to the tour guests visiting. This is no tour, just a friendly stroll through downtown Tijuana with some snacks along the way. NOT

Great food. Wonderful and accommodating tour guide. We asked to eat gorditas and visit Artesania, our guide Marisol was very knowledgeable and flexible. It's the right tour for young adults who can walk a lot and eat unlimited food.
