Known for its art, each wall in Midtown tells a story.

Midtown Sacramento is a most vibrant part of the city! Among other things, tour guests will learn the intriguing history of murals in the city, while experiencing Sacramento’s current art scene. Guests will also try dishes from some of midtown’s finest menus, in an area of the city that has exploded with restaurants in recent years.

Along the way, we’ll pop into venues with farm-to-fork ingredients and farm-to-glass libations, all sure to tantalize your palate while filling your belly. Our culinary concierge will guide the group in and out of eateries while pointing out the sights and sounds of midtown in between.

Local Roots Food Tours limits the group size of each tour to no more than 14 individuals. Special dietary needs can be met with prior notice. Senior, military, and children discounts are available.

So many: Dawnie was (is) a spectacular guide...we chatted and laughed and had a wonderful time with her. She knows the town, and it is impossible not to surf on her enthusiasm. Great conversations, great food, accommodating and welcoming restaurants--owners and staff...what's not to like? My friend and I are good friends, but we meet rarely...and so savor the memories between dry spells. This will be one to return to many times. It was a fun expedition, a memorable part of a long friendship.

Our guide, Dawney, was super knowledgeable about Sacramento history, mural art and food. Dawney was the perfect tour guide for a food-related tour based on her passion and background. The places we visited gave us a wide variety of cuisines. My favorites were Azul, Ginger Elizabeth's and Pachamama - I'll definitely be back to these 3.

Although a tad pricey (for Brits, the FX rate sucks!), this was an excellent tour with the highly knowledgeable, energetic, and personable Dawnie who took us to some lovely eateries in the mid-town, showed us local art, engaged in great conversation and delivered a wonderful afternoon.
