Based on my experience I'd give this tour no stars. Why? Simply because they canceled it and I never got to see Monterey and Carmel. I know things can happen and mistakes can be made BUT NOT when you are told days in advance that your tour is confirmed as well as your hotel pickup time! I confirmed this tours days in advance and the day BEFORE the tour. I was told my pickup time and everything looked great until I received a text message to call them regarding the tour. I was on a Yosemite tour at the time but I managed to break away and call. Worst call ever. I was told they had to cancel the tour due to lack of people. Are you kidding me? You JUST confirmed the day before and now it's canceled?? I was SO upset since my days were all planned and I had NO time to reschedule anything. I booked way in advance so that I had a tour each day. I knew we'd never return to San Francisco so we wanted to get it all in. The tour company of course gave me a full refund as well as a certificate for a complimentary tour for 2 people in the future which I won't be using since I'm not returning to SF. I can give it to a friend or family member but I doubt anyone is going there anytime soon. Yes they tried to make it right BUT not while I was there. I can't go back in time. It's very upsetting that this happened to me. Just beware that's all I'm saying. The tour company took full responsibility for the issue but that doesn't help me much. I would never book through them again since they gave me misinformation and since it was last minute I couldn't fix anything with another tour. I knew I'd only visit SF just once. Try going with another tour company that's more organized. Do your research. This company will try to defend themselves and so be it but it still remains that they were at fault and ruined part of my vacation.

Our entire team at Extranomical Tour deeply regret having to cancel your tour and understand the disappointment that it caused to your vacation plans. In the rare event that we do not have enough guests to run a tour (fewer than 1% of our total tour dates), our policy is to offer guests any other tour as a substitute or a full refund plus a seat to tour another day if that works in their schedule. To our current and future customers, please note that our published terms are transparent about the need to cancel events in the slow season of the year when there are not enough guests to run a safe and enjoyable tour. Finally, we reached out to the guest who left this review by voice and email and have not received a response. Please call our guest services office today and we will try to find a way to put things right. 415-357-0700

I highly recommend this tour. The scenery on the way to Monterey is gorgeous, and our tour guide, Constantine, was friendly and knowledgeable. The hours flew by. I chose the add-on option of visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it was well worth it. The jelly fish exhibit and the open seas exhibit are not to be missed. At each stop along the way Constantine would provide helpful additional information. It was a very good tour overall.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is outstanding as you say. There are many other great attractions in Monterey and Carmel like whale watching, kayaking, biking, shopping and more. Great winter tour when in the San Francisco Bay Area.
