Our family is not majorly into Broadway, but we visited here one day before seeing Phantom that evening. The museum was excellent. There was a shot orientation film, and lots of well-written signs taking you through the biggest shows, eras, and events in Broadway history. The museum covers musicals, plays, burlesque, vaudeville, etc. The museum also had lots of information on important Black contributors. You start by walking up 3 flights of stairs to the top, which makes you feel like you’re backstage if a real theater getting ready to perform. You then see exhibits on all 3 floors as you make your way back down. Contrary to someone else’s comment below, the staff said that an elevator is available for anyone who doesn’t want to (or can’t) walk up and down the stairs - and so the museum is definitely ADA compliant. The very end of the museum is dedicated to the non-actors who make musicals happen (eg, hair, make-up, costume, set design, lighting, stage production). Highly recommend! We spent about 90 minutes here.
