My husband, 18 year old daughter and I took a day out of our vacation to do a day trip to Charleston. It takes about 2 hours each way and traffic is pretty congested along 17. The trip home was longer than the trip to. The trip itself was really good. I'll start at the beginning. Make sure you get there 15-20 minutes early. They meet at Broadway at the Beach. Our driver called us at 6:50am asking if we were still coming. We were 5 minutes away and the last people to board. They were waiting on us and departure time was 7:00am. It was a pleasant ride there, very quiet bus with a short Charleston video about 45 minutes from arrival. Our horse and buggy was waiting for us and we quickly got started with a street tour of homes and places of interest. Our guide was really good. He dropped us off at City Market and we had around an hour to shop. We met the charter bus back at our drop off location and he took us to our harbor tour. We had our lunch waiting and were able to eat downstairs in the air conditioning and still have great views. The lunch was good-sandwich, fruit, drink but the sourdough bread was very tough to chew. The narration again, was very good. After that leg of the tour, we got back on the bus to the short drive to Boone Hall Plantation. We saw three rooms of the house, took a ride around the plantation, and had time to quickly run in one of the nine slave cabins. We really needed another half hour to 45 minutes to see everything. The Avenue of the Oaks is absolutely breathtaking. When they made our way back to Charleston.

The tour was fine for a taste of Charleston. The central pick up location is good feature. The carriage tour was only 45 minutes and the rest of the morning was time for the market which is typical seaport attraction for cruise ship visitors. The boat tour was informative and we learned about some military history. Boone Plantation was disappointing as only got to see a few rooms. The tour around the plantation to see the working farm was best part. The bus driver was just that ...the driver and he did not even bother to welcome everyone onboard and give us an overview of the day! The driver did regularly remind us that we had to be back on the bus by a certain time. However when we were to leave 345 to go back to Myrtle Beach he never gave us any explanation as to why we were waiting for five people who did not show up until after 4. The five people offered no info either..not even sorry for making us wait!

This is a bus trip which leaves from Hard Rock Cafe, Myrtle Beach going to Charleston. It was a great experience! When we arrived in Charleston, we were immediately on a carriage ride which was amazing and very informative! From the carriage ride we were able to stroll the Historic Charleston City Market. Next we were bussed to Charleston Harbor Tours on the Carolina Belle, which included a box lunch provided by Teds Butcherblock. While on the Carolina Belle, we were shown many landmarks, including Fort Sumter. We also saw dolphins and Pelicans. Next we went to Boone Hall Plantation Tour. To visit all three of these in one day was a great and memorable experience! Thank you!
