There’s nothing more intimately haunting than a colonial burial ground and Mystic boasts some of the most fascinating and haunted burial grounds around. Whitehall Burial Ground established in the 1660’s was one of the common burial places of Mystic until the rural landscape movement arrived to Mystic in 1854. Our Graveyard Ghost Tour tells tales of some of Mystic’s most famous residents.

The graveyard tour walks visitors through early American history in New England through times of fear, sickness and war. The trials and tribulations left behind several hauntings and the graveyard has had activity of footsteps, voices and full-bodied apparitions for years – many of which guests experience on our tour. The Graveyard tour ends with a special spooky surprise – perfect for history and ghost lovers alike. The graveyard tour walks guests through time amid the graves of the people who made Mystic, Mystic.

Jason was a great guide! The ghost stories were very captivating especially in the graveyard setting. We had wonderful weather and unexpected creepy animal sounds to add to the eerie atmosphere. Thanks for a fun night!

My teen children and I were led in a group moonlit graveyard tour by Kim, who did an excellent job telling the tales of the original settlers of Mystic. She really “brought them to life” (haha ) in her vivid and captivating descriptions. It was fun doing our own investigation of spirits with the cool equipment like the ghost hunters on TV! Thrilling all the way ! Such spooky fun, well worth it!

Our tour guide was pleasant, but the stories she told were very hard to follow. It felt like a script she hadn't fully memorized so she was adlibbing and making it up as she went. It didn't feel genuine or spooky.

Hi Siobhan! We are so disheartened to hear this. We want to be the best tour experience possible and strive for this. Our guides should not ever come off as being unprepared and for that we do apologize. All of our stories are true and content should be the same on each tour though guides differ in their delivery. It looks like your guide has been with us for a couple of years, so we can only assume it was an off night as that's not her typical feedback. Please reach out should you visit again so we can ensure you have a better experience.
