We came to the museum on a Monday in January, expecting to see the Turner exhibit and some ships. I had studied the museum's website carefully and thought we would have a free range of the place. We found that the entire region with the boats and ships was CLOSED! We did see the Turner exhibit, but no ships. The museum management bears the onus for this. They must describe on their web site what is open when. We drove down from Boston, and we would have come on a different day had there been a clear description on the web site. We saw the ships from across the river, no thanks to the museum.

Dear Jtp4
We are disappointed to hear that you were not able to find the proper information after carefully studying the website. The information could be found by clicking on Visit “hours and tickets” or by simply clicking on “Tickets” located on both the header and footer on the main web page.
The “Tickets” button posts the following information:
“Choose Adult or Youth Tickets to visit the Museum's North Campus Thursday-Sunday. North Campus admission includes access to the whaleship Charles w. Morgan, Homeport Activity Center, world-class exhibits like Voyaging in the Wake of the Whalers and J.M.W Turner's Watercolors from Tate. Choose the Collins Gallery Ticket for the J.M.W.Turner Exhibit Monday-Wednesday (North Campus Closed).”
We do appreciate your feedback and will look into improving how and where we post this information but in the meantime I would personally like to invite you to return when the full museum is open starting February 15. Please call me at 860 572-0711 ext. 5004 to make arrangements.
Regards,
