Natural Wonders Walk: Plants, Animals and Rocks of Joshua Tree

Join us for an exciting adventure in the stunning landscapes of Joshua Tree, CA, USA. Explore the diverse flora and fauna that call this unique desert ecosystem home and learn about some geology, as well. Guided by a certified California Naturalist who will lead you on a journey through the desert, pointing out interesting plants, animals, and geological formations along the way. Get ready to be amazed by the natural beauty of Joshua Tree!

The formal portion of the hike will last about 1.5 hours with about a 30 minute hike back to the cars. The hike is a little over 2 miles round trip. While most of the hike is flat, be prepared to hike sandy, gravelly, and hilly terrain.

Please note: All attendees must sign a liability release form in order to attend. Please bring the signed form(s) with you.

Joshua Tree

On this hike we will: Gain a better understanding of the geologic formations of Joshua Tree. Learn about more than three dozen significant plant species including their uses by Native Americans, how they evolved, and why they are important to the desert biotic community. Discover the habitats and characteristics of key Mojave animal species. Bust Joshua Tree myths! If you book between June through November, you will very likely be getting a private tour since that is our slow season.

We waited 30 minutes, the guide never showed up, very disappointing. Would not recommend this at all

Again, I am so sorry for the mix up. You changed your booking to occur in less than 24 hours and chose to do this through Viator and I was never contacted by you even though you had my email and you phone number (this included the day of). As I mentioned the email arrived on my end after the hike start and the email arrived from Trip Advisor as the sender not Viator, which is who sends me all my bookings. As I have said before, I am very sorry for this mix up.
