I originally booked the New Orleans Historic Cemetqry Experience but received a text the night before saying it had to be cancelled but I could take the French Quarter, Voodoo & Cultural Experience tour instead. Against my better judgment, I accepted the alternative. Our guide (I think his name was William?) checked my friend and I in, and mentioned that the other tour had to be cancelled because there wasn’t enough people registered. After all of the guests were checked in, we set off with about 20 people in the group. Our guide, who told us he was a novice student of voodoo, set a quick pace and only talked to the people in the front of the group while walking. There was one lady who had a walker, and the guide didn’t care at all if she was keeping up or not. Needless to say, we lost her pretty early on. Our guide didn’t seem to care how far behind people were trailing in the heat, and when he did stop it felt like he was reading from a textbook. There was no excitement, interest, or inflection in what he was saying. Everyone looked bored and hot the entire time. His delivery and his stories were not fun or interesting at all. After an hour, my friend and I ended up leaving the group to walk around on our own.
