Enjoy the stories on a walking tour through New Orleans’ elegant 19th Century garden neighborhood. You will get to look through the gates at Lafayette Cemetery #1, currently closed to the public. This neighborhood and its cemetery tells the story of New Orleans from the Louisiana Purchase to the Civil War. Stunning antebellum mansions, lush gardens, unforgettable stories, and beautiful photo opportunities await! We keep our group size under 12 guests to make in a fun, personal experience.

We've really enjoyed our garden tour with James. He's great at telling stories and has a fun bubbly vibe. We felt like we got a really good glimpse of the neighborhood and saw many beautiful homes. It was also cool to get a deeper dive into the inner workings of the cemetery through his "insider" photos. The bonus was that we had a small group of 4 that day so it's always nice to do a tour without a big crowd!

OK, now we will be calling James "Bubbles!" Thanks for this excellent review of the Garden District tour. Since the cemetery was closed to the public in September, we have really combed through our archives for the best, most descriptive pictures of tombs so that we can share with our guests the unique way we inter our dead. I think we have ended up with a more thorough description than we had when the cemetery was open! Thank you also for mentioning how comfortable it is to walk with a small group. We love being able to customize all of our tours to the interests of our guests. Please come again! Libby

This was excellent tour. It was informative and our guide was excellent. Worth the money . He answered any and all questions we had. I recommend this tour.

Libby was very fun and knowledgeable. Liked that is was only 12 in the group. The Garden district can be overwhelming but Libby took us to all the best. My only suggestion would be to find a place to sit and have a water bottle for just 10 min. Would absolutely tour with Libby again!!!

Thanks for the great review! I love our small groups because we are able to answer questions, customize the content, and everyone makes a deeper connection. I completely agree that the only thing that would make this beautiful tour even better would be a rest stop, but the neighborhood is completely residential and we can't find anywhere to stop. My dream is to one day buy one of the beautiful homes in the Garden District and invite all our guests to sit on my porch - wouldn't that be nice? Maybe next time! You just keep coming back every year and check on my progress! Libby
