Enjoy the stories on a walking tour through New Orleans’ elegant 19th Century garden neighborhood. You will get to look through the gates at Lafayette Cemetery #1, currently closed to the public. This neighborhood and its cemetery tells the story of New Orleans from the Louisiana Purchase to the Civil War. Stunning antebellum mansions, lush gardens, unforgettable stories, and beautiful photo opportunities await! We keep our group size under 12 guests to make in a fun, personal experience.

James did an outstanding job! He was affable and informative. It was the perfect tour! We hit all the major elements around the garden district and he was extremely knowledgeable!

Affable James! He knows his stuff. I am married to him and I trained him to be a tour guide, and now I am amazed at how much more he knows than I do. He loves what he does, notices things others don't, and he never stops learning about New Orleans. Thank you so much for this excellent rating. This tour makes my top 2 list of tours (I’ve done a lot all over the US). Our tour guide Josh was extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. No campy tour stuff. This tour is great way to see and understand the Garden District. We also were to able see Lafayette Cemetery (cemetery is actually closed but you can still get decent pics from the gates). Great stories and pacing. Also, the meeting place is at Gracious Cafe (I would recommend the gingerbread cookie - nice balance of sweet and ginger). Once again, great tour and priced well. It was the best money ($25) that I spent on this NOLA visit.

We are honored! The Garden District is a must-see when visiting New Orleans, and Josh is so good at showing its beauty and telling its story to our guests. It is disappointing that we are now unable to go into the cemetery but, as you said, we can still get a good look at it through the gates and now we can see more of the stunning neighborhood. I hope some day you are able to come back in the spring to see it all in bloom (and have another cookie, of course!) Thank you for helping us out with a review and recommendation! Libby

The guide Josh was excellent, very knowledgeable and fun! Defiantly recommend this tour. The houses were amazing to see, the cemetery was interesting with all the history. He really knows the history and explains things well.

We are all disappointed that the cemetery is now closed, but we are fortunate that there are several wide openings so that we can still peek into the gates and show our guests its beauty and history.
