We went on this tour as a team bonding activity while in town for a conference on Halloween. Orion was an incredible guide and gifted storyteller. He effortlessly led us through the crowded streets of the French Quarter on a rainy Halloween night. He was careful to accommodate the person on a mobility scooter despite the unfriendly and potentially dangerous sidewalks. He imparts such respect for the local history and culture and kept us spellbound. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Twenty years of theater didn’t prepare me for this. Storytelling has always been my trade, but today I got an unexpected and extraordinary masterclass on the streets of New Orleans. Orion was introduced to us as our tour guide for the day. After a few minutes it was apparent that we were in for something unique. Like Virgilio with Dante, Orion will pull the veil gently and guide you into the world of shadow that looms in the streets of New Orleans. A third generation storyteller who will mesmerize you with his passion, enchant you with his incredible knowledge and finally sweep you off your feet with his dedication to his craft. As I often say: “Leave the to the Irish.” Orion could literally walk me through a beignet recipe and make it sound like the Aida. You can decide to skip this tour and wonder the magical street of New Orleans by yourself. You can, but you shouldn’t. You mustn’t. It would not do this city justice. So here is my suggestion: Put that drink down. Leave Bourbon street and make your way to the check in desk. Open your heart and mind and let Orion lead you into the shadow.
