I’m doing four stars instead of five because of the large group format. I thought anyone doing the tour would be avid history / ghost / story lovers. Instead I spent a lot of the night listening to men in our group mocking the stories or basically taunting our tour guide. You could tell they were skeptics and not truly interested. It killed my mood a lot.
However, that isn’t the fault of the tour. The experience would be five stars but I think having such a large group takes away from the atmosphere.
Our tour guide was Coby and I tried sticking as close to him as possible to chat more about the ghosts and stories. You could tell he was passionate about these stories and I wanted to hear everything he knew.
I loved learning the true history of the LaLaurie Mansion. I went in only knowing what was portrayed on American Horror Story. That informative, historical side made it so interesting for me.
If I could do a smaller or private tour with Coby and my family I think it would be an awesome experience. The chance to talk more individually with the tour guide might make it a more meaningful experience for us hardcore fanatics.
I didn’t catch anything on camera but it was a fun experience all the same.
