This may just be my new favorite Christmas activity in NYC! My husband and I sailed on the Cocoa and Carols Holiday Cruise last evening and are already looking forward to NEXT season! Read about it online and thought it sounded like great fun and we weren’t disappointed. It was a beautiful evening in early December, clear skies and an unseasonably warm temperature of 57 degrees when we left Chelsea Pier. The charming Manhattan II was festivally decorated for Christmas and looked so cheerful and felt so cozy. We were assigned to a table with 2 other people who also came to NYC to get in the holiday spirit. If that’s why you’re headed to New York, this cruise is a great activity to check out. The crew was very fun, live music was quite nice, and caroling with our assortment of shipmates still makes me smile. Kudos to our crew for getting everyone in the spirit, especially during an enthusiastic and spirited rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas! The majesty of the Statue of Liberty and the twinkling skylight of Manhattan after dark were breath taking. The best way to appreciate the views and take pictures is to go outside, so bring warm clothes along for when you step out for awhile. Even though we sailed on a “warm” December night, it was windy and cold outside. A light snack mix was provided, your first drink is included from a specific list with an option to upgrade, and Christmas cookies were served. It was 90 minutes of sheer joy! Highly recommend!
