I highly recommend this experience if you are visiting Fairbanks to view northern lights. The team was easy to coordinate, and on-time. And David was the best guide we could have wished for. He was patient and calm, and really determined to show us the best views to watch Aurora Borealis.
Based on my experience, I would recommend having at least 2 nights to witness the experience. On our day 1, one of the pictures with very faint lights, we barely got to see anything even though the prediction was high. The clouds took over even though the weather app mentioned otherwise. David was so patient and still hunted the lights for 3-4 hours that night.
On our day 2, prediction was excellent, and we saw the magic - see the two pictures. It was extremely cold but really rewarding.
I would suggest the company 2 slight changes if possible:
1) Photos are although very important, it is more important to witness the lights through naked eyes. I would request a bit less focus on our pictures (every 5 mins) with the light and a bit more focus on capturing the light itself. As the guest, you can let your guide know if you do not want to have more pictures and instead focus on the lights.
2) In case the guests are signing up for multiple days (2 and more), there should be a small reduction - e.g. 10% on the total amount for day 2 or 3. This gives the guests more incentive to sign up for multiple days and with the same company.
Having said that, do not think even once before signing up for the adventure with Alaska Journey Tours. They are the best and KUDOS to David!!

Hi,
Thank you so much for your kind review! David is awesome, and we’re glad you noticed that. We do our best to showcase the northern lights to all of our customers despite the inconsistency of the weather and the freezing cold. Thank you for your suggestions and ideas, we are so glad you enjoyed your tours with us — come back again next time!
