Goods: Central Park is beautiful in the fall. Bikes were available and Fancy Apple was able to get us going 20 minutes early.
Bads: Fancy Apple staff was rude and inconsiderate. Theydon't wear name tags and we were told twice "No" when we asked for the employee names.
Fancy Apple requires the $2.99 insurance for each rider if the reservation is through TripAdvisor. The first employee we spoke with stated that TripAdvisor made it mandatory but a second emplyee corrected him and said it was Fancy Apple's requirement. The store policy of "One Government issued ID required from the group" is to mean that someone must trust Fancy Apple with holding your driver license while you ride the bikes. The staff does not allow riders to pick their bicylcles. While they had bikes with suspension setting out, I was told only "eligible" to ride the stiff hybrid bike.
Others: There are persons wearing Fancy Apple shirts standing right outside Central Park, along 59th Street. One of the guys approached me and asked if we were done and wanted him to take our bikes back for "convenience". Obviously, they had my driver license so we said no. When we got back to the store, I tried to speak with one of the staff about these guys at the park and he laughed and walked away. Not sure if the guys by the park actually work for Fancy Apple, but I felt like there was a scam in play.
