Although we were let down by the weather, storm Hermine in fact, this tour was brilliant taster of The Hamptons. Our guide Beatrix was simply wonderful. She really tried to make the most of the day despite of the weather. She even planned a quick stop at Walmart so we could gear up with waterproof ponchos and umbrellas. The Hamptons stops were lovely. Beautiful to wander around. Beatrix recommended a Pizzeria in Sag Harbor to grab a bite and although it didn't look like much from the outside, it was great and honestly one of the best pizza's I have ever eaten. From The Hamptons we took an unexpected stop at a vineyard for a short wine tasting visit. It was at no additional cost and with no obligation to buy. However, the wine was lovely and very affordable so I'd recommend grabbing a bottle if this is a normal part of the tour. From there we went to the Outlet. A day previous we had visited Woodbury Common Outlet so we were slightly over shopping at this point but it was still a great place. However, I would say Woodbury Common has more to offer and was better overall. We had about an hour and an half here so if you wanted to do some serious shopping then this isn't enough time. From the Outlet we headed back to Manhattan. As we neared the city our guide welcomed us back to New York by playing Billy Joel's ''New York State Of Mind'', a lovely touch to end a fab day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day at the Hamptons. Our tour guide, Beatrix, was informative and helpful. Speaking personally, I would have liked more time in Southhampton, the beach and Sag Harbour and no shopping trip at the Outlet at the end of the day.
Overall it was a great tour. The only thing that I didn't think was required was the stop to have wine tasting. I would much have preferred to have more time in Sag Harbour. The Hamptons was what I wanted to see, not to taste wine .
