Guests will need one MetroCard swipe or OMNY tap to enter the subway.

Please note that although you will see abandoned subway stations from the train, the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) doesn't grant public access into them under any circumstances.

My friend and I went on a subways tour with A.J.. It was truly a wonderful experience, A.J. is an encyclopedia of information! Not only did we gather a lot of facts about subway history, A.J. has a gift of contextualizing this history so that it comes alive as narratives that interweave with one another. In addition to stops in various subway locations, A.J. shared maps and old photographs that enhanced the stories he told. Because the subway is so noisy, A.J. provided head sets that were easy to use and always clearly amplified his voice. For city lovers - both local and tourist - this is a must!
