The Oak Alley plantation tour is one of the most magnificent plantation tours near New Orleans because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. The Greek Revival home dates back to 1837. Located on the grounds is a restaurant, blacksmith shop, Souvenir Shop and antique farm equipment. Next up is an airboat tour - hold onto your hat! Our New Orleans Airboat Swamp Tour is a high speed adventure that is part tour and part ride. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. Our airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. So, every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife.

We enjoyed our time learning about the Oak Alley Plantation. It's a beautiful place, and our tour guides were friendly. We had the best time at the Swamp Tour. Our guide was wonderful. He knew the swamp and its inhabitants, he was engaging and gave us great information. The boat speed was great and we had a lot of fun! It was a great day.

I'd love to share the name of the driver of our bus, but she never shared it. She also didn't share where we were going (plantation or swamp first) or how long it would take to get there. The only time she actually spoke was when we got to the plantation to tell us we had less than 90 minutes before getting back to the bus. This was very odd, and somewhat unsettling, as we spent hours of the day driving. The plantation is beautiful and the tour is very informative. The gift shop has really interesting and unique things, and was a lot of fun to go through. I'd love to speak to the food but there was simply no time to try it. The swamp tour was really fun, with a great guide and many alligator sightings. Great information about the area, the breeding cycle of the alligator, and how much the swamp was affected by Hurricane Ida and the unseasonal weather. In the future I would do these as two separate tours so hours are not spent in a silent bus listening to the radio. Also, spending more time at the plantation would have been very much preferred.

Thank you for the feedback. It is indeed a long day when you opt for the combo tour, due the distance between each location. If it's too long of a day for you, we do recommend that you take the tours separately, as that is an option as well. As far as the driver, their job is just to safely transport guests to and from their location. Although some will provide a little entertainment at their own will, they are not required to entertain as they are driving, but we do agree that there could be more communication between her and the guests as to where you all are headed. We will further address the issue. We appreciate the feedback.

This is the 3rd time I have done this type of tour but this is the 1st time with this particular company. The other people in my group had never done this tour before. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave a great history on the bus ride. We did the plantation first. When we arrived we were given tickets for our scheduled time for the house tour, and told what time to be back on the bus. We had barely 20 minutes to tour the grounds before the house tour. Once the house tour was over we had only 5 minutes before we had to be back on the bus. There was no time to go through the gift shop or get a quick drink. I’ve never been this rushed at the plantation on the other tours I have done. The swamp tour was just ok. Our guide didn’t seem too thrilled to be out on the boat, and the ride was less then thrilling. I’m assuming it was the guide and not the company that was the issue, because the other times I have done the airboat ride, it was great.

We are sorry that your experience was not what you expected. Guests are allotted 2 hours total at the plantation for both the self-guided and guided portion. We understand that this may not be enough time for some as you prefer to tour the plantation more thoroughly. As far as the swamp tour, we strive for excellent tours that are memorable.
