There is no other place on Earth quite like the Okefenokee Swamp - the Land of the Trembling Earth. We at Okefenokee & Satilla Expeditions LLC are locals with deep ties to this amazing land. As you venture on this out-and-back trip into the enchanting landscape of the prairies (marshes) of Okefenokee with your local professional naturalist guide, you'll immerse yourself into a wetland and wilderness considered by National Geographic to be one of the world's top 100 most beautiful places!

We are licensed, insured, and Federally permitted to conduct tours in Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.

NOTE- this is an out-and-back tour, not a loop.

NOTE- this was previously a 4 hour long tour. It is now a 2 hour long tour. Participants do not need paddling experience, just need to be moderately physically fit and capable of getting in and out of a sit-in kayak. Please wear shoes that can get wet.

My husband and I took a guided kayak tour with naturalist Jenny in the Okefenokee Swamp on a bright morning in late December. I had never kayaked before, and was worried about that. It turned out to be easy for this reasonably fit 66 year old and was not an issue. Jenny gave us an excellent overview of swamp history, formation, ecosystems, plants and animals and was able to answer detailed questions. We had a wonderful time paddling a trail and then onto the old canal. We saw many alligators (!), birds, and turtles up close, and a very large raccoon. Such an exciting new experience! Jenny was a wonderful guide and gave us a lot of interesting information.

this was an excellent kayak adventure. Although we were concerned about potential thunderstorms, the team kept us advised, and we were able to enjoy the most glorious morning. We explored the swamp and saw many birds, alligators, and interesting plants. Michael, being born and raised in the area, was a wealth of knowledge and a great storyteller. would definitely recommend

The tour was amazing, it certainly exceeded our expectations. Jenny was experienced, knowledgable and enthusiastic. Her love of the area and what she does is clearly evident. We had a wonderful time and would go with her again and certainly would recommend others experience the Okefenokee with Jenny.
